Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Shavontae Naylor, 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen, 6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-3 Jr. Marcella Rocha, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper. SEMO coach Rekha Patterson countered with 5-10 Sr. Olivia Hackmann, 5-9 Jr. Hannah Noe, 6-1 Jr. Mandy Madden, 5-3 So. Adrianna Murphy, and 5-6 Sr. Bri Mitchell.
Eastern Kentucky University outscored Southeast Missouri State University 13-2 in the second quarter on their way to a 74-63 victory. Eastern Kentucky shot 41.4% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line. The Colonels connected on 21 of 33 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored nine points off 14 SEMO turnovers. SEMO shot 32.1% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc. They connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 18 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.
Shavontae Naylor led Eastern Kentucky with 24 points and eight rebounds. Alexus Cooper added 13 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, and three steals. Jalen O’Bannon also reached double digits with 10 points. 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill chipped in with eight points including six of eight free throws. 6-3 Jr. Madison Wood recorded seven points, 10 rebounds, and two blocked shots.
Olivia Hackmann led SEMO with 26 points and nine rebounds. Bri Mitchell added 16 points, three assists, and three steals. Adrianna Murphy recorded 10 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. 5-11 Jr. Deja Jones pulled down nine rebounds.
