Eastern Coach David Henley started the following lineup: 6-0 Sr. Javen Rushin, 6-0 Jr. Jordan Lyons, 6-4 Sr. Caleb Williams, 5-9 Sr. Sugar Wyche, and 5-10 Sr. Braxton Johnson. Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-3 Jr. Justin Mitchell, 5-10 So. Harris Hawkins, 6-3 Jr. Andreus Green, 5-9 So. Keaston Brown, and 5-10 Sr. Brian Tribble.
Henry Clay missed a shot at the buzzer for the tie allowing Eastern to earn a 55-53 victory over the Blue Devils. Eastern shot 36% from the field including five of 23 from the three point line. The Eagles connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 12 Henry Clay turnovers. Henry Clay shot 31.1% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils connected on 11 of 21 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 15 Eastern turnovers.
Caleb Williams led Eastern with 16 points and eight rebounds. Javen Rushin added 12 points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Jordan Lyons recorded 10 points and six rebounds.
Justin Mitchell led Henry Clay with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Andreus Green added eight points, 11 rebounds, and three assists. Keaston Brown recorded eight rebounds, four rebounds, and three assists. Harris Hawkins chipped in with five points and nine rebounds.
