Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Zan Payne, 6-3 Jr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Peter Whitman, 5-9 So. Javen Hardin, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Johnson. Corbin coach Tony Pietrowski countered with 6-3 So. Chase Sanders, 6-2 Sr. Tanner Barnes, 6-4 Sr. Conner Hopkins, 5-11 Sr. Zach Maguet, and 6-3 Jr. Andrew Taylor.
Corbin defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 78-75. Lexington Catholic led 75-73 with 14 seconds to go in the game but the Knights were fouled one personal foul and two technical fouls with eight seconds to go in the game. Andrew Taylor completed five of six free throws to give Corbin the victory. The score was tied 11 times and there were 18 lead changes in the game.
Corbin shot 47.2% from the field including seven of 21 from the three point line. The Redhounds connected on 21 of 27 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored six points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 50.9% from the field including six of 14 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 16 Corbin turnovers.
Andrew Taylor led Corbin with 32 points including 13 of 15 free throws, 13 rebounds, six assists, and two steals. 6-2 Fr. Matthew Taylor added 17 points and five rebounds. Conner Hopkins recorded six points, six rebounds, and five assists.
Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 31 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Zan Payne added 14 points and four rebounds. Javen Hardin chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Peter Whitman recorded six points and six rebounds.
