Ball State coach James Whitford started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Bo Calhoun, 6-6 Sr. Ryan Weber, 6-6 Jr. Franko House, 6-3 So. Francis Kiapway, and 6-4 Jr. Naiel Smith.  South Carolina State coach Murray Gavin countered with 6-7 Sr. Gabriel McCray, 6-3 Jr. Eric Eaves, 6-8 Sr. Darryl Palmer, 6-0 Jr. Greg Mortimer, and 6-2 So. Ed Stephens.

 

Ball State defeated South Carolina State by a score of 72-60.  Ball State shot 41.8% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 20 of 27 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight South Carolina State turnovers.  South Carolina State shot 37.3% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Ball State turnovers.

 

Franko House led Ball State with 18 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Bo Calhoun added 16 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists.  6-6 So. Sean Sellers chipped in with 12 points on four three point baskets.  Ryan Weber also reached double figures with 10 points.

 

Gabriel McCray led South Carolina State with 11 points and six rebounds.  Eric Eaves and 5-10 So. Ty Soloman also scored 11 points each.  Darryl Palmer and Ed Stephens added 10 points each.  6-7 So. Tashombe Riley recorded six points and nine rebounds.

Ball State (72) – Calhoun 16, Weber 10, House 18, Kiapway 0, Smith 2, Tyler 7, Davis 6, Sellers 12, Wells 1.

 

South Carolina State (60) – McCray 11, Eaves 11, Palmer 10, Mortimer 1, Stephens 10, Riley 6, Soloman 11.
