Longwood coach Jayson Gee started the following lineup: 6-6 So. Khris Lane, 6-3 So. Kanayo Obi-Rapu, 6-8 Sr. Lotanna Nwogbo, 5-10 Sr. Tra’Vaughn White, and 6-2 Jr. Darrion Allen.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Jarelle Reischel, 6-5 Jr. Javontae Hawkins, 6-9 Fr. Nick Mayo, 6-1 So. Paul Jackson, and 6-2 Jr. Isaac McGlone.

 

Eastern Kentucky University shot a blistering 66.7% from the field in a 110-97 victory over Longwood.  Longwood led 43-42 at halftime but EKU shot 81.3% from the field in the second half to pull away for the victory.  The score was tied nine times and there were 14 lead changes in the game.  EKU shot 66.7% from the field including 13 of 24 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 17 of 25 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 12 Longwood turnovers.  Longwood shot 50% from the field including 10 of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Lancers connected on 21 of 26 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 11 EKU turnovers.

 

Jarelle Reischel led EKU with 37 points including three three point baskets and eight of 11 free throws. 13 rebounds, six assists, and three steals.  Javontae Hawkins added 26 points and five assists.  Paul Jackson recorded 14 points including three three point baskets and 13 assists.

 

Lotanna Nwogbo led Longwood with 26 points and seven rebounds.  Tra’Vaughn White added 21 points including five three point baskets.  5-11 Sr. Leron Fisher recorded 18 points including 11 of 11 free throws and nine assists.  Darrion Allen chipped in with 10 points.
