Lexington Christian Academy acting head coach Tom Bower (Coach Brad Carter was out tonight with an illness) started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Drew Trimble, 6-6 Jr. Matt Rose, 6-5 Sr. Michael Young, 5-10 Jr. John Stein, and 6-2 So. Trevor Hill. Lafayette coach Mike Mendenhall III countered with 6-6 So. Ross Jenkins, 6-4 Sr. Lance Blakley, 6-9 Sr. Jackson Davis, 5-10 So. Harrison Lane, and 5-11 Sr. Dequise Robinson.
Lexington Christian Academy led 47-36 in the third quarter but Lafayette rallied for a 62-53 victory. There were 12 lead changes and three ties in the game. Lafayette outscored LCA 23-6 in the final quarter. Lafayette shot 38.1% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line. The Generals connected on 27 of 39 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 17 LCA turnovers. LCA shot 36.7% from the field including six of 13 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Lafayette turnovers.
Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 28 points including 17 of 25 free throws, 12 rebounds, three blocked shots, and three steals. 6-1 Jr. Lucky Jackson added 10 points and Dequise Robinson recorded 10 points and four steals.
Drew Trimble led LCA with 16 points and seven rebounds. Matt Rose added 14 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots. 6-4 Jr. Benton Nighbert chipped in with 11 points and Michael Young recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
