Tates Creek coach Justin Cheatham started the following lineup: 5-9 So. Katie Pippen, 5-5 Jr. Michelle Tichenor, 6-1 Jr. Peyton Hisel, 5-5 So. Lexi Whaley, and 5-6 So. Oney Harrison.  Paul L. Dunbar coach Amy Tilley countered with 5-4 Sr. Christin Haney, 5-5 Sr. Olivia Grabmayer, 5-10 So. Lekeena Parks, 5-2 So. Jordin Fender, and 5-2 So. Kierra Muhammad.

Tates Creek defeated Paul Dunbar by a score of 54-48.  Tates Creek raced out to a 31-11 halftime lead as Dunbar only shot 14.3% from the field (4 of 28) in the first half.  Dunbar mounted a furious rally in the second half and trailed 42-31 after three quarters.  The Lady Bulldogs cut the margin to four; 52-48 with 1:12 left in the game but could not close the margin.  Dunbar connected on six three point baskets in the second half.

Tates Creek shot 46.3% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Commodores connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 42 rebounds, and scored 12 points off nine Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 28.1% from the field including seven of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on five of 11 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 23 Tates Creek turnovers.

Peyton Hisel led Tates Creek with 22 points and 15 rebounds.  Hisel was eight of 14 from the field including one of one from beyond the arc, and five of six from the free throw line.  Katie Pippen added 14 points including three three point baskets.

Kierra Muhammad led Dunbar with 14 points including four three point baskets.  5-9 Jr. Morgan McEldowney added 11 points and five rebounds.  Lekeena Parks chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds.

Paul L. Dunbar coach Justin Yeary started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Lamont Johnson, 6-1 Jr. Zach Herrin, 6-4 Sr. Sean Lamanna, 5-10 Sr. Clay Coyle, and 5-11 So. William Gary.  Lafayette coach Greg Coldiron countered with 6-5 so. Nick Trisko, 5-10 Jr. William Johnson, 6-7 Fr. Jackson Davis, 6-1 Sr. Dee Yarbrough, and 5-9 Fr. Charles “Snoop” Johnson.

Lafayette led 54-47 in the fourth quarter and held on down the stretch to defeat Dunbar by a score of 58-56.  Lafayette shot 34.4% from the field including five of 18 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 15 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 37.5% from the field including three of eight from beyond the arc.  The Bulldogs connected on 17 of 23 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored six points off 17 Lafayette turnovers.

Jackson Davis led Lafayette with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and seven blocked shots.  Charles “Snoop” Johnson added 17 points including three three point baskets, and pulled down seven rebounds.  Nick Trisko chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds.

Clay Coyle led Dunbar with 22 points including three three point baskets.  Sean Lamanna added 14 points and six rebounds.  Lamont Johnson chipped in with 10 points and 12 rebounds.  William Gary also reached double figures with 10 points.
