1) Pivot on the ball of your foot. Some martial artist end up pivoting on their heels; others turn flat footed. By learning to balance on the ball of your supporting foot, you'll be able to reach higher and farther with your kicks.
2) Lift your supporting heel off the ground as you kick. This can add several inches to your kick.
3) For kicks that require a pivot, you can you can add height by leaning over the supporting foot.
These quick fixes should be used even after you've gained additional flexibility.
