Relationship

The soil in the Prairie ecozone is rich and very productive. The soils that are in the ecozone are good for growing grasslands and other grass vegetations. The most productive soils in the ecozone are dark brown, dark gray and black soils. These soils are found in the area where mixed grass is grown. These types of soil are very fertile and very suitable for growing crops. This is why this area is known to contain most of Canada's agriculture production. It is also known as the Canada's "breadbasket".
