Access Point – Hardware
allowing connection to a local area network through wireless connection.
Domain – A collection of users
assigned access to private network resources.
Throughput -The amount of data
actually received by one source when sent form another
LAN – Local Area Network, a
collection of computers connected together over a fixed topology
connecting at specified locations.
WLAN – Wireless Local Area
Network, a collection of computers connected through means or wireless
hardware over a coverage area serviced by one or more wireless access
points.
Wi-Fi – Wireless Fidelity, a
term describing the technology of connecting computer to a local area
network or Wide Area Network through wireless means.
VLAN – Virtual Local Area
Network, a subset network separating certain machines from others on a
wider local area network.
