This is my page dedicated to the actress Kirstie Alley. I'm a big fan of Kirstie's, and although i know she receives a lot of bad press, i just think she has an amazing screen presence and there's something about her that cheers me up when i watch her movies. Since i was young i've always picked out a famous woman to 'aspire to'. When i was 11 it was Anthea Turner(!). What can i say, i was a Blue Peter fan. Well that's enough about that!

Kirstie Alley was born on January the 12th (making her Capricorn by the way), but there is some confusion over the year. The majority of sites give the year 1951, however i've also seen 1953 and 1955. I've also seen some sites claim that Kirstie's birth name is 'Gladys Leeman', the name of the character she played in 'Drop Dead Gorgeous'. Me, i don't believe it. Kirstie was born in Wichita Kansas, USA, and in several of her TV and film appearances she makes references to Kansas (Toothless, Veronica's Closet).

She has an older sister called Collette (biology teacher) and a younger brother, Craig (lumber company manager). Her father is called Robert, but sadly Kirstie's mother, Mickey, was killed in a car crash in 1981. I've read from several sources that Kirstie was a cheerleader at high school! She attended Kansas State University and the University of Kansas. I also read somewhere that she was married while at university (1974-77), but i've haven't been able to confirm that.

She met her husband, Parker Stevenson when she was still an aspiring actress in 1981. A year after they met Kirstie starred in her first major film role as Lt. Saavik in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. A year later they married (December 22nd 1983). Sadly, the couple were divorced in 1996.

Kirstie and Parker adopted two children, William True (born October 5th 1992) and Lillie Price (born in 1994). I read in an article once that during her time on Cheers, Kirstie suffered a miscarriage.

Kirstie Alley is best known for her role as the neurotic business woman Rebecca Howe in Cheers (1987-1993) for which she one and EMMY, a Golden Globe and a People's Choice Award (all in 1991). Her most successful film, Look Who's Talking (1989), grossed over $140m in the states, starring Kirstie alongside John Travolta as a mother looking for a suitable father for her baby boy. Kirstie has starred in 14 movies and many TV movies, her outstanding performance in the television film 'David's Mother' won her a second EMMY Award in 1994. In 1997 Kirstie got her own primetime series, 'Veronica's Closet' where she starred as Veronica 'Ronnie' Chase, the owner of a successful chain of lingerie stores. She won a People's Choice Award for this role in 1998, bring her award total to 5 (and her total nominations to an impressive 18!).

Kirstie is a Scientologist, along with 'Look Who's Talking' co-star John Travolta, and several other Hollywood stars. Kirstie is 5'7", has green eyes, and dark brown hair (most of the time!).

See the news and info section for other information about Kirstie Alley, as told by the press.
