Detailed filmography, including links to other relavant sites. Click the link after each summary to return to Kirstie Alley Page. This section details Kirstie's earlier films, before her starring role in cheers. A lot of these films have since been deleted from the UK video catalogue, and so are more difficult to track down. However, they are out there, somewhere...

One More Chance

This is Kirstie's first known film role and virtually impossible to obtain. The film is about an ex-con's attempts to reintergrate into society, but i haven't been able to track down any reviews. This film is sold exclusively by Amazon.com (American), although even there, it might not always be available.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan

kirstie alley saavik

Kirstie first major role was as Lt. Saavik in the second Star Trek film. I'm not much of a trekkie, and i haven't seen this film yet, but as far as i know; Spock is Lt. Saavik's mentor, and there's this whole chemistry thing, and i read that in the latest book, they get married(!), or at least the Vulcan equivalent . A more detailed summary of the film can be found on the official Star Trek website. A review of the book 'Vulcan's Heart' can be found here. There is another a photo of Kirstie as Saavik here. Unfortunatly, Kirstie couldn't be convinced to continue her role as Saavik in the following film, where the character playing a much larger part. In 'The Wrath of Khan', the credits read 'Introducing; Kirstie Alley as Saavik'.

Interestingly, when watching other films, i've seen several references to Kirsties role in Star Trek. In Look Who's Talking when talking about baby books, John Travolta's character says that Dr's are just trying to sell books, Kirstie gets upset, saying that 'Dr Spock doesn't just want to sell a book, Dr. Spock loves us'. John then looks to the baby and says, 'i don't know why she's getting so upset over a vulcan, big ears and no emotions right?'. There's another such comment in Look Who's Talking Now, when Kirstie has to dress up as one of santa's elves, with vulcan like ears.

This film is very easy to buy. Personally i'd recommend Amazon.co.uk.

Masquerade

This TV series, also starring Rod Taylor, only made it through one series. The concept was that of an agent hiring everyday 'experts' to help in crime cases. The example usually given is that of a plumber being hired to plant a bug in piping. An interesting idea i think, although i'll never see it in action. A video is apparantly available in America, here, although i can't figure out quite where...

Sins of the Past

Since this is a TV movie, it's unlikely that i'll ever get to see it unless it gets shown on British TV. The stiry is about a group of callgirls who all quit their jobs after the murder of one of their firends. Years later, after they have all established seperate careers (Kirstie's character becomes an actress), they are reunited as the killer resurfaces. This is described on IMDB as a 'suspense thriller'.

Runaway

The film, recorded in 1984, is set in the near future when most things are robot controlled. Two agents are assigned to the case of a killer robot and have to stop the mastermind behind it. I'm not entirley sure of Kirstie's role in the film, her character is 'Jackie Rogers'. The trailer (although it doesn't tell you much) is available here: IMDB trailers. If this film ever comes up cheap on e-bay, i'll buy it, as it is currently unavailable elsewhere. The film also stars Cynthia Rhodes and Tom Selleck. A gallery of pictures of kirstie in the movie can be found on J9's Kirstie Alley site.

Blind Date

Blind Date stars Joseph Bottoms as a man who goes blind, but is then fitted with a 'brain-computor' thing that allows him to 'see'. The computor allows him to identify the face of a killer performing his own brand of home surgery on women he seduces and takes back to his flat. Presumably, Kirstie is 'the one that gets away'. The film is rated 18 on account of nudity and violent scenes. It has a foreign director, and was filmed abroad too, but i'm pretty sure it's in english (i haven't seen it yet). This film is available all the time on ebay (UK) in both VHS and DVD formats. My favourite photo of Kirstie i found out recently is from this film, i think?
