Here is a printable pic of a poppit. Use this as a pattern. You can print it out as it is or down load it and resize it to your specifacations.

Cut out 2 patterns and sew with the right sides together. Leaveing an opening on the side of the leg to stuff it. Turn right side out and stuff. Add any herbs, crystals or oils you feel are appropriate for your workings. Then sew up the hole. You may want to embroyder a face with the correct color eyes. You can add hair of the correct color also. Do this before you sew the 2 pieces together. The heart should be cut out from felt in the appropriate color of your workings and sewed on to the poppit. I tend to make many ahead of time, in all sorts of colors so I know I have them. The longer you spend with your poppit the better during the ritual. If at all possible try to get hair clippings and/or nail clippings or a piece of fabric from whome you are thinking of. And remember. NEVER do anything against some ones will.
