The Swanswater Fishery

Scottish contributing flytyer Leon Guthrie field tests many of his flies at the Swanswater Fishery which sounds like a fascinating place to visit.

The Swanswater Fishery is in beautiful Stirling, Scotland. It is a family run business owned by Mr Alasdair Lohoar and Mrs. Morna Lohoar. The fishery was man-made many years ago, is of excellent quality, and is fed continually with a burn flowing in. It is stocked with Rainbow, Brown, Blue Trout and Steelhead and many are of superior size. The largest Rainbow caught thus far was 18lbs 14 oz.; the largest Brown Trout, 13lb 12 oz, and the largest Steelhead, 8 lb 6oz.

Should anyone be interested in visiting the Swanswater Fishery, they will not be disappointed. Alasdair and Morna are friendly and hospitable hosts. Their United Kingdom telephone number is 01786-814805.
