Lucas' Black Reeach Spey 
Designed and Dressed by Clark Lucas

 

Pattern: Lucas' Black Reeach Spey

Hook: Partridge EX/Long Bartleet size 2/0 Black

Eye: 20lb Dacron Backing (Black waterproof Marker)

Thread: Griffons 14/0 Black

Rib: Large Flat Silver tinsel 4 bars, evenly spaced with 2, medium oval silver tinsel between, 1 medium oval Silver Tinsel used for Counter winding.

Body: Black Uni-Wool 3strands, dubbed w/Black Seal and twisted, then entire body clipped with scissors. (Note: No tag on this fly)

Hackle: A Black Spey Cock feather-Schlappen type from old fashion feather Duster, 1/2 stripped, Tied in at head of fly and palmered, following Large Silver flat tinsel and then counterwinded w/med Silver oval Tinsel.

Throat: Highlander Green Gadwall or Teal 2-3 turns

Wing: Mallard Flank feather 1/4" strips, matching, tied in separately (T.E. Pryce-Tannatt), whitish head

Head: Loon Black
