This version of the Green Butt Skunk was tied by Oregon fly tyer William Lovelace for a his series Creativity in Fly Tying: Varying the Approach to Tying the Same Fly with Different Materials and Styles. (which see)

Bill's notes: "I want to show the class a low water style fly where we see that proportions of the fly can be varied on the hook for particular uses. A small fly can be tied on a bigger hook."
