The Parakeet was designed because of the great success I have had with wrapped zonker (rabbit) strip flies for fall Pacific Salmon. This is variation of the design has been the most successful combination for the Chum Salmon run. The barbell eyes have helped to add the necessary amount of weight to get it down during the recent rains and high water. See also, Parakeet, Eyed for another variation of this fly.
