Schaadt's Egg Sac, Pink

Name Schaadt's Egg Sac, Pink
Category Pacific Salmon
Hook Salmon, Size 8 to 2/0
Thread Fluorescent Red
Tail Black Bucktail, Tied Long, Comet Style
Body Rear 2/3, Thin Fluorescent Red/Orange Floss or Yarn; Front 1/3, Large Hump of Fluorescent Pink Chenille
Hackle Black

This pattern, attributed to Bill Schaadt for the Smith River system, also has a proven record of success on Northwest and European rivers. The color of the hump on this fly actually looks more pinkish, than the picture developed. Fish this fly on a dead drift, close to the bottom, with a very slow retrieve. The fly can also be tied in other colors. See also Black Egg Sac.
