This pattern came from the fine book by Peter O'Reilly, Trout & Salmon Flies of Ireland. He writes that this Shrimp Fly pattern by Alastair Gowans will take fish from late spring to late autumn and can be fished on a sink-tip or floating line, depending on water temperature and light conditions.
