This pattern came from the fine book by Peter O'Reilly, Trout & Salmon Flies of Ireland. He writes that this Shrimp Fly pattern is widely used and more popular than the Wilkinson Shrimp (Dark). It works well for fresh fish in bright weather when there is just a little color in the water.
