Humpy Fly, Female (Nelson)

Name Humpy Fly, Female (Nelson)
Category Pacific Salmon
Hook Size 6, 3XL
Tail Red Hackle Fibers
Body Flat Silver Tinsel
Throat White Hackle
Wing White Marabou Tips, Back to Back; Topped With Peacock Herl
Head White

The pattern for this fly, came from the fine book by Bruce Ferguson, Les Johnson, and Pat Trotter, Fly Fishing For Pacific Salmon.

They write that this pattern, originated by Bill Nelson of British Columbia, is great when the Humpies are running. For some reason, the females seem to be attracted to the white color and the males to the black version.
