The Red Head
An Original Pattern by Ard Stetts

The Red Head

Name The Red Head
Category Pacific Salmon/Steelhead
Hook A.J. steelhead Iron size 3 in black or similar
Tag Actually the rear half of body, Flat gold tinsel
Body Front half, blended fur and wool in dk. red, black, with some sparkle yarn mixed into the dubbing. Wound up full
Hackle Bleached goose shoulder dyed crimson red is wound from just ahead of the tag forward over the dubbed front body
Ribbing A heavy oval gold French tinsel is wound over the tag and over the hackle to secure it
Wing A sparse under wing of polar bear or buck tail over which is tied a veil of brown mallard flank feathers

Ard's Notes: ...a cousin to the Alaskan Lady is the Red Head, Pacific salmon and a good attractor for fresh run steelhead.
