Protecting oneself
Know that each and every girl here has been in
a bad situation a time or two, you are not alone. And each girl has probably
learned a valuable lesson from such a difficult spot. We must always remember we
are at the whims and mercy of the Free always and must obey as to the best of
our whole-hearted abilities. But, this is not saying you have to take something
that will cause you damage, to your heart and belly. Though slave, we are very
precious to Those who own us. Following Your First Instinct by vika{M} Remaining Pleasing and Showing

Some book quotes will be offered as well, along with what i feel is the
difference between a good pride and a bad pride. But first off, i would like to
say that i believe that all slaves do have pride and i feel that it is a part of
us as long as we remember there's a difference. Just my opinion.

jaz knows that she has seen this topic before on message boards on other sites,
but thought perhaps it may be a good thing to speak of here as well.
As in everyday life, not everyone you meet is trustworthy or that *nice* person
that you would like to get to know better. This as well, falls over into the
realm of this online medium. Say you meet a Master and start spending time with
Him, everything seems to be going well, then He asks for your phone number,
address..
jaz is sure that you get the picture.
what we need to remember is never give out real time information on yourself
that you don't want to give out. Just because that you're slave online, don't
mean that your rt still isn't your rt.. we have to be careful with Those that we
trust, even if They happen to cap Their names and we call Them Master. Some will
use that to get information that They want to have, without the consequences of
what it may bring to the others
Helpful Advice for a new slave
When confronted with someone you do not know, be polite and respectful. Always
offer to serve and serve with your whole being. Be most respectful to all
command of the Free whether you agree or not. we are slaves not princesses.
Many times, things do not go the way we wish them or expect, we need to be very
careful and watchful. If at a time things move to a more personal level and you
are feeling uncomfortable, ask to whisper to the Master or state your feelings
out loud. If this does not help and you are truely unable to continue, ask to
leave. Please refrain from lying. It's an easy trap to fall into.
If after peaceful discussion, such abuse continues, remember the rule of threes:
either state your restrictions three times with a ehn between posts or beg to
leave three times with a ehn between. Always c+p any confrontational
conversations and email the Council. we must cover our own bottoms. It is up to
the Council and your personal Master to determine if the action or comment was
out of line, not the slave. And lastly, seek out the first girl jasma, a trainer
or a close sister to discuss what happened and talk out your feelings. we are
here for each other in learning and sisterhood always.
A Master once said "it is not a slaves place to punish herself for mistakes or
wrongs, but only her Master's responsibility to discipline and punish as He sees
fit."
Lastly, always protect your rt (real time). we must always behave and portray a
slave while in vt (virtual time) but your rt is just that *yours*. never give
out rt personal information. this is a rt personal issue that only you can
decide. No true Gorean Master will force you to give up rt information.

Greetings, sisters and brothers.
ve would like to talk about gut instincts. Something we all have but too few pay
attention to. ve almost always listens to her gut feelings; they have yet to be
wrong.
Many slaves on Gor seek a personal Master/Mistress; some are so desperate they
will take the first collar offered to them. ve thinks that is a big mistake. One
should take their time and listen to their gut feelings or instincts. Example:
if your gut is telling you a certain Master/Mistress can't be trusted, odds are
they can't. Or if your gut says this Master/Mistress is a Player, meaning
stringing many slaves along in one way or another, then odds are they are. Even
though this is only a chat line, real feelings can come into play; listening to
your gut feelings may just save you some hurt down the road.
Don't let anyone try to bully you into thinking that your gut is wrong. Some
people will say anything to get what they want; and they will try to convince
you that it's ok to trust them, love them or whatever even though your gut is
telling you to run far and fast. One time online, ve let a person convince her
things would be ok despite her gut telling her that to trust this person and let
him close was wrong. In the end, her gut was right. She should have run in the
opposite direction when she met that person.
Your instincts can't be fooled; the only reason we get fooled is because we fool
ourselves and ignore what our guts tell us. You have to do what is best for you,
but ve strongly suggest you listen to your gut and follow what it's telling you.
It just might save you in some way.
Submission
To yield oneself to the authority of Another completely. To give in, relinquish
everything.
Submission is not something to be taken lightly....it must carefully be
considered....once you have submitted, you should be absolutely missive~with no
will of your own, but that of your Masters. It's allowing someone else to
control your body and behavior, all that entails the intricacies of you. It is
not easy and once decided upon should remain so.....take the time to search
yourself. It will prevent confusion and switching and not being content with
one's Master. John Lange also spoke of this in one of His many works; The
Cognitively Paradox.
While Freepersons are NOT always right, They are by definition, NEVER Wrong,
therefore slaves do not argue with Freepersons. Slaves always have the last two
words in any disagreement. "Yes, Master" or "Yes, Mistress."
Slaves have no rights; you have nothing not given you by a Master. Your name is
not your own, it can be changed at any time. Any items given to you by a Master
can just as easily be taken from you. If you are entrusted to carry the name of
an Owner, and his silks, guard them carefully and with your life. Because it
will be your life.
To vika, her submission isn't unnatural, nor is it sick or twisted. It just is.
vika hopes in reading this article that she teaches, as well, the heart of a
slave. she has always been submissive v/t and r/t. her slavery transcends from
her real time into the v/t.. and the submission is still given by her and taken
by Him. *softly*
she is often asked...."how is Master Marius outside of v/t." And for her, it is
simple. His Mastery goes beyond Gor. It is complete and hard at times. But vika
does nothing but love Him more and grow.
Why does she submit beyond the very essence of her soul to Him? Because He has
honor in all, He is constant, dominant, strong and does not sway from
principles, self-assured, wise, mature, sensitive if need be, compassionate, He
is accountable and accepts responsibility for behavior of His slave and
Himself....maintaining safety and security of His Tavern slaves....He deals
honorably with issues, He has courage for principles and will admit a mistake
when He recognizes one was made., He is and advocate for endurance and
prosperity of the Gor culture...an ally, shoulder to shoulder, standing with
Other advocates of Gor...and a Mentor to O/others who have need of His
example....*ALL characteristic of a Master*
vika knows....she has been the property of Master Marius, First Sword for two
years. He commands absolute obedience and exquisite beauty...she is to be sexual
at all times and pleasing. And is to NEVER EVER question His authority over her.
Only perfection is tolerated by her Master. He is vika's highest law. her soul
yearns to be able to let somebody else take control, to be able to not have to
make decisions, to not be concerned about what errors she will be going to make.
Being submissive may have put chains on her bronze body, but it has removed her
soul from bondage.
Being submissive is in the mind, heart, and soul. you live it, breath it. you
know beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are but slave. And are free and happy
in that bondage. It is also so important to be subservient, obedient, pleasing
'NO MATTER' how challenged you are to maintain it.
The merest whim of your Owner is your highest law. The collar entrusted to you
carries the honor of your Owner; you and you alone can make it as light or as
heavy as you wish it to be.
Out of her love for Him, it is not forced upon her, she is not made to
submit....she feels it, wants it, craves it. Aii, vika steps out of line upon
occasion...and He swiftly cuffs her back into it. The one look of His anger, the
withdrawal of His touch....it kills the girl.
He nurtures, molds, loves, listens to anything of His slut no matter how
trivial. He knows every hair upon her head, each curve, moan, taste and smell.
He know her beyond Any....better than she know herself...and out of that
sister's comes that absolute necessity to submit to Him or beg for death. There
are no secrets with your Master. He knows ALL.
Submission, to vika...is such a wonderful thing. It is how it should be....it is
nature. Aii, it is difficult...and at times vika is hurt, saddened, devastated
and even cries.........but it makes her stronger in that submission......*eyes
twinkle*
"You are slave. You are owned. You are a female. You will be forced to be a
woman. The Gorean man will accept no compromise on your femininity, not from a
slave. She will be what he wishes, and that is a woman, fully, and his. If
necessary, you will be whipped or starved. You may fight your Master. He will,
if he wishes, allow this to prolong the sport of your conquest., but in the end,
it is you who are slave, it is you who will lose. On earth, you had society at
your back, he could not so much as speak harshly to you but you would rush away
or summon magistrates; here, however, society is not at your back, but his. It
will abet him in his wishes, for you are only slave; you will have no one to
call - nowhere to run; you will be alone with him and at his mercy. Further, he
has not been conditioned with counter instinctual value sets, programmed with
guilt, taught self-hatred. He has been taught pride and has, in the very air he
breathes, imbibed the mastery of females. They are different men. They are not
earthlings. They are Goreans. They are strong, they are hard, and they will
conquer you. For a
man of earth, you might never be a woman. For a man of Gor, I assure you, my
dear, sooner or later you will be."
("Tribesman of Gor" p. 12)
What is a slave girl?
"Your entire life," he said, "will now be pervaded with sexuality, with your
femaleness. Your life will now be a sexual one, a life in which your femaleness,
for the first time, will be of undeniable and paramount importance, a life in
which it will be overwhelmingly central. Everything
else will take its coloration and meaning from that."
"Yes, Master," she said.
"It will be a life of total femaleness, and dedication, and service and love."
"Yes, Master," she said.
"The smallest tasks in your life, how you clean your masters leather, how you
set out his clothes, how you cook, and sew, how you shop, how you clean and
launder, even the tiniest and most servile tasks, all such things, will become
sexual, all will become expressions of your femaleness, fitting and joyful
manifestations of your worthless but helplessly proffered, gladly tendered love
and service, that of only an insignificant slave."
"I understand," she said.
"The life of a female slave," he said, "is a life wholly given over to love. It
is not a compromised life. It is not one of those lives which is part this, and
part that. It is a total way of life, a total life. The female slave seeks to
give all, selflessly, knowing that she, as she is a mere slave, a right less
animal owned by her master, one who can be bought and sold at his least whim,
can make no claims, that she deserves nothing, and is entitled to not the least
attention or consideration. There are no bargains made with her, no
arrangements."
"Yes, Master," whispered the girl.
"And it is for such women," he said, "that men are willing to die."
(page 435-436, Book 21, Mercenaries of Gor)
vika encourages her sisters to enjoy their submission.....and give all as if
your very lives depend upon it.
*BECAUSE? IT DOES*
by ~*ingrid*~{Harkon}
The main goal of the online Gorean slave is to be pleasing at all times to all
Free People. Slaves are taught that we always have the last word, that being
"Yes Master/Mistress". Respect must be shown at all times. How can a slave
remain pleasing if they show a lack of respect to Free People?
Being pleasing at all times can be difficult. We as mere humans have many
different emotions that seem to grab hold of us without warning, especially
women who are for the most part emotional creatures by nature. Yet when online
in a Gorean setting one must learn not to let their emotions run them. Only you
can do this for yourself; for only you truly know you. ve`ra can only offer
suggestions on what works for her. Even after over a year of being an online
Gorean slave ve`ra still has days where her emotions get the better of her. She
has to take a deep breath, count to 10, and then type "Yes Master/Mistress".
Even then she does not always succeed in remaining pleasing. So probably the
best suggestion ve`ra can give any slave is: if your mood is one in which you
can not be pleasing then don't enter a Gorean realm until your mood is one of a
pleasing nature.
Respect is a hard issue for some online. We see respect as being earned not just
simply given because a person capitalizes their name. ve`ra still struggles
almost daily this. She has learned however that she can show respect without
having respect. She simply reminds herself what she is, who her Master is, and
what he would think of her actions should she fail to show respect. No slave
desires to bring shame or dishonor to their Master/Mistress or his/her collar.
Stop and think before you type; remember all your actions fall back on your
Master/Mistress.
If all else fails beg to leave before you do something displeasing or to bring
shame upon yourself and more importantly to your Master/Mistress.
ve`ra hopes this helps her sisters and brothers in some small way.

"What are my duties?" I asked. Exquisite beauty and absolute obedience." (Slave
Girl of Gor, Pg.261)
"Most female slaves walk very proudly. They are proud of their slavery, and
their mastery by man. They have learned their womanhood. It has been taught to
them." (Tribesmen of Gor, Pgs. 332~333)
There are many levels of beauty, perceived and appreciated differently. It is a
lasting impression. It is an individual beauty. Each one, so different, yet so
lovely within their bondage.
"I suppose the requirements of the slaves were high. Each of the girls, I
suspected, would be vital and much alive. Each of them I knew was beautiful.
Each of them I suspected would be intelligent, for Goreans, as
the men of Earth commonly do not celebrate quickness of mind and alertness in a
girl." (Assassin of Gor, Pg. 125)
For vika, it is a blending of all that she is. Physical, mental, emotional and
sexual behavior. It involves depth. A display in her every movement, her type,
all that she is and does. She lives it everyday of her life. Imaginative and
free in her slavery, she is. Her slavery flows through her. She grows in her
ko~lar and her Master expects her to be and to display all that is within her.
Vitality and femininity are a must for vika. Sprinkled with humor and always
bringing honor not just to her ko~lar and the One who own her...but to her home
here at Gorean Shores. She NEVER violates her restrictions and her Master
requires her to continually study and seek perfection.
She is not only content and happy in her bondage....but her life is her Master.
She knows her entire essence is submission. There is NO doubt that now she is
slave, she will always be slave.
There is not just outward beauty, there is inward beauty. When both are
attained, it is then displayed in all that you do or say. In your type, serves,
dance....*FEEL IT, BECOME IT, BURN IN IT* vika has learned that
once all of these are mastered, you will then learn to control your tongue. The
most difficult for us sisters. But in doing so, we display even more
beauty...for it is control. We display absolute submission. To Man, that is the
most beautiful.
"Slavery itself,' I said, 'often makes a woman more beautiful and desirable. It
removes tensions. It removes inhibitions. It makes women happy. It is hard, I
think, sometimes, for a woman who is happy not to be beautiful. Sometimes
Goreans ask, is she slave because she is beautiful, or beautiful because she is
slave?" (Beasts of Gor, Pg. 247)
**To keep this within you sisters, will keep you from the slave pole and the
painful kiss of His whip. You will only then...grow in your beauty**

We were speaking of a slave's pride
issue, seems at times it's brought up quite often, and mistress galah had asked
if i would write something up about it.
(taken from slave notes on June 13, 2001)
i think that good pride is the sense of accomplishment from learning something..
from pleasing a Free.. from serving from your heart.
i feel that bad pride is more in a sense of feeling you're better than another..
or that just because you done something you feel you need to get something in
return.. 'i'm proud.. i did better than her.. i should be rewarded'.. etc.
Now, by no means am i saying that my opinion on this is the correct opinion for
everyone. It's just what i feel.
"I can walk with my head down, as a slave," said Tarna.
"Most female slaves," said Hassan, "walk very proudly. They are proud of their
slavery, and their mastery by men. They have learned their womanhood. It has
been taught to them. They have learned their womanhood. It has been taught to
them. In their way, though imbonded, totally, I suppose they are the truest and
freest of women. They are closest, perhaps, to the essentials of the female,
those of subservience to the masculine will, obedience, service and pleasure. In
being most themselves, utter slave, they are most free. This is paradoxical, to
be sure. Most girls, verbally, will object to slavery, but this half-hearted,
pouting, ineffectual rhetoric is belied by the joy of their behavior. No girl
who has not been a slave can understand the joy of it, the profundity and
freedom. The objections of girls to slavery, I have noted, are usually not
objections to the institution which, in the sweet heat of their bodies, they
love dearly, and fear only to lose, but to a given master. Given the proper
master they are quite content. In the proper collar a woman is serene, and
joyful."
"Are slave girls truly proud?" asked Tarna.
"Most," said Hassan. "You may think only of girls you have dominated, or
seraglio mistresses, presiding over male weaklings. But have you seen girls,
truly, before men?"
"In a cafe, once," she said, "I saw a girl dance before men. She was scandalous!
And the girls, too, who served in the cafe! Shameful! Scandalous!"
"Speak with care," said Hassan, "Girl, for someday you, too, may so dance and
serve."
Tarna turned white.
"Did the girls seem proud?" asked Hassan.
"Yes," said Tarna sullenly. "But why should they have been proud?"
"They were proud of their bodies, their feelings, their desirability," said
Hassan, "and proud, too, of their masters, who had the will and power to put
them in a collar and keep then there, because it pleased him to do so."
"How strong such men must be," whispered Tarna.
"Too," said Hassan, "undeniable females, secure in their sexuality, it was
difficult not for them to be proud. Too, joy can make girls proud."
"But why, why," wept Tarna, "should they be proud?"
Hassan shrugged. "Because they knew themselves to the most perfect and profound
of women," he said. "That is why they are proud." Hassan laughed. "Sometimes,"
he said, "girls grow so proud it is necessary to whip them, to remind them that
they are only slaves."
"I can walk proudly," said Tarna. "Lead me through the halls." She rose to her
feet, and stood before us.
"There is a difference," laughed Hassan, "between the pride of a free woman and
the pride of the slave girl. The pride of a free woman is the pride of a woman
who feels herself to be the equal of a man. The pride of the slave girl is the
pride of the girl who knows that no other woman is the equal of herself."
Pages 332-333, Tribesmen of Gor
She looked up at me. "How can you respect me?" she asked.
""You are not to be respected," I told her. "You are only a slave."
"Yes, Master," she said.
"You no longer have any pride to guard," I said. "A slave is not permitted
pride."
Page 175, Explorers of Gor
How alive and vital they seemed! Their hair was loose, in the fashion of
bond-maids. Their eyes shown; their cheeks were flushed; each inch of them, each
marvellous imbonded inch of them, was incredibly alive and beautiful. How
incredibly feminine they were, so living and uninhibited and delightful, so
utterly fresh, so free, so spontaneous, so open in their emotions and the
movements of their bodies; they now moved and laughed and walked, and stood, as
women; pride was not permitted them; joy was. Only a kirtle of thin, white wool,
split to the belly, stood between their beauty and the leather of their masters.
Page 100, Marauders of Gor
... But though I was not as good as Lana, I had little reason to be ashamed of
my advances in the arts of the female slave. I was almost flawlessly superb. I
would bring a high price. I was proud. In acknowledgement of my skills, perhaps,
Lana began to take me into her confidence, and though I hated her, I became her
friend. We spent more time together, and I talked less with stupid Ute and
skinny Inge. Lana and I were the best, the very best!
I was much pleased.

What exactly is slave burnout? To this one it is a place where sooner or later
all slaves will find themselves. It is when the fire that burns deep within each
slave becomes barely a flicker, when her desire to serve and please is almost
null and void. It can happen for many reasons: a slave's Master isn't around
enough; the slave is released from the Master she loved more than her own life;
the pressure of being a tavern slave becomes too much; ect...
No matter the reason the result is the same, often times the slave will become
withdrawn, disrespectful; her serves will lack the fire and heart they once had.
It is a sad thing when a slave finds herself suffering from slave burnout; some
slaves never recover and slowly pull away from Gor, while for others it may only
last a few days.
Can slave burnout be avoided? Possibly, if at the first sign of it the slave
takes a few days away from Gor to relax and regroup. Is it curable? Most
definitely. If you are a slave and feel as fall has described above don't leave
Gor, don't stay on Gor until you are so burnt out that you say things and act in
ways you never would any other time. Rather, take a time-out away from Gor.
Allow yourself the time you need to heal what ever ails you. Maybe it will only
take a day, maybe a month. However long it takes you owe it yourself and those
you would serve to be at your best, to serve from the heart not just from memory
with no feeling behind the words. There is nothing wrong with saying "this one
needs a break for awhile", odds are most Masters/Mistress will understand and
permit you the time you need. So don't be afraid to speak up and ask for time
away, we all need a break every now and then.
