"Ever Forward"
Sigma Sigma Sigma is a national sorority with a local origin. Founded at Longwood in 1898, the Alpha Chapter has been home to nearly 1400 women and is always interested in growing further. Sigma Sigma Sigma always strives to move forward, in both the quality and bonds of her sisterhood.

At 'Wood, it's Not "Rush." It's "Recruitment"
Longwood's Recruitment begins with registration in the New Dining Hall the week before. To be eligable for recruitment, a woman must have at least a 2.25 GPA and have completed one semester at Longwood College (first semester freshmen and transfers are not allowed to be prospective members). Recruitment consists of a week of "parties" designed to give Prospective Members a chance to become personally acquainted with each of Longwood's nine NPC sororities in order to find the one that's right for them. It's an opportunity to ask questions, participate, and learn, resulting in "Walk," wherein new members run to their new sororities.

For a Casual, Low-Pressure Introduction...
In addition to Recruitment, sororities hold Open Houses starting the week after Recruitment. Many new members forgo Recruitment and attend an Open House held by the sorority of their choice. Only eligable women are allowed to attend these. Other events are classified as "All Invited" and do not restrict invitations. All Tri-Sigma Open Houses and events are advertised via fliers and banners, as well as on our website.

Ask About Tri-Sigma!
But the best way to learn about us is to meet us! Feel free to ask a sister about our sorority. She'll be glad to help. And attend events with us. Some examples of activities eligable women and Sigmas have participated in include talking on the balcony, dinners, shopping trips, movies, and camping trips. We're always willing to help you learn what our sorority has to offer.
