1.
There's never a dull moment!
As the
longest continuous presence at Longwood and the second of the "Longwood
Four" to be founded, part of becoming a sister of the Sigma Sigma Sigma's
Alpha Chapter is knowing your part in preserving the sorority's history.
Visitors to Longwood's campus are greeted first with a historical marker
telling of the founding of four national sororities, Kappa
Delta (1897) Alpha Sigma Alpha (1901), Zeta Tau Alpha (1899), and Sigma Sigma Sigma (1898).
Outside the Lankford Student Union is the Sigma Gardens, a gift from Nationals
on the occasion of Sigma's 60th anniversary. In 1998, the Centennial Clock
was dedicated, with each alpha chapter's letters on one of its four sides
(Sigmas' is the south side).
Images and more information on our chapter's history can be found on our
archives
