"Sigma Serves Children"

The Robbie Page Memorial
The Robbie Page Memorial was established in 1951 after the death of former National President Mary Hastings Holloway Page's (Alpha) son from polio. The RPM supports play therapy for terminally ill children, providing support for playrooms, librarys, and programs for children undergoing long-term hospital care. National efforts are centered in The University of North Carolina Hospitals and in Children's Medical Center, Dallas. Tri-Sigma is also the only sorority that established her own foundation, supported and maintained by sisters only.

Local Efforts
Locally, the Alpha Chapter is involved in the Special Olympics, held on Longwood's campus every January and in cleaning up our adopted highway in Farmville. Also, we serve local children by participating in the "Adopt an Angel" program, donating toys to those in need, and supplying Thanksgiving dinner to an area family. Longwood's Tri-Sigmas also serve Farmville area children individually, either by participating in the "Big Sibilings" program or through major-related service projects. Recently, Sigmas have been seen walking in the MS Walk, wearing burgundy ribbons, and running a booth at the Wellness Fair, all to increase public knowledge and awareness of Multiple Sclerosis, adopted as a local philanthropy in honor of a sister's mother who has the disease. In April, 2002, Tri-Sigma participated in the first "Up Till Dawn" fundraiser for St. Jude's Children's Hospital at Lognwood.
