This department involves the “operation” of the ship and some aspects of engineering; this is why Operations and Engineering share the same department color. “Operation” of the ship involves operations management, communications and tactical. These are crucial divisions as they provide the CO with tactical information and perform tactical duties during combat. The “engineering” part of Operations involves supply, emergency energy distribution and ship systems, hanger deck operation and shuttle craft operation.
