A couple of weeks ago I found out what a dear cyber friend in Australia has been going through.
The morning after becoming aware of this situation, I knew what I wanted to share with you.
With her permission, I am relating a part of her shocking and frghtening saga.

Her story brought home to me how very precious our freedom is.

Jamie's Story ~

After developing two thriving businesses in Australia, Jamie is experiencing the trauma of losing her home and her financial security.
Her government "thought it best" to take control of all her and her husband's finances, because he was beginning to suffer from dementia.

Jamie has spent thousands of dollars the past four years, trying to continue caring for her husband and to maintain control of her own money and material possessions.
This is money she and her husband created together over 30+ years of marriage.
She recently went for months without a stove to cook meals because the government would not give her enough of her own money to buy a stove.

Newspaper articles in Sydney have reported thousands of such cases where the family finances have been taken and the "patient" has died alone;
many suffering from malnutrion and poor care.

I am shocked and enraged at this happening in a so-called democracy.

I don't pretend to know all the answers in such situations and I am sure that the agencies involved were initially created for a good cause.

But what this has said to me is that we must all......

PAY ATTENTION ............ BE INFORMED.

We have the right to vote and it is our duty to be a part of the decision making process of our country.
Jamie never imagined she could be victimized by the country she loved so well.

Neither should we here in America take our liberties for granted.
