We were all pretty much in awe of Rome.
Here I am viewing the Roman Forum.....amazing !

Seeing the Colosseum was awesome.
A Christian group was singing a haunting song as we strolled pretty much silent, through the ruins.

We caught David and Linda in the shot on the right.
I would love to know what the man on the cell phone was saying !
(That day I didn't even notice him...or the guy in the leather pants !)

The evening at the tavern in the Roman hills, Lee and the entertainers really had a thing going.
As for Gail, she seemed pretty unimpressed !!

We snapped a quickie of Will and Marylian
that evening when we visited the Pope's
country residence.

It was a lovely, tiny village with a beautiful
lake located below. They bring him in by
helicopter, but unfortunately we had to climb
......and climb......and climb
the hill to the quaint village !!

We couldn't believe it.....we actually were in St. Peter's Square in the Vatican City
at noon on Sunday to experience the Pope coming to his window for a rather lenghty blessing !!

Speaking of lenghty.....we discovered that the Vatican City is VERY BIG.
We seemed to walk miles around its wall.....just to get into a line that was just as long,
so we could see the Sistine Chapel.
What an unbelievable place !

EVERYWHERE you looked was wonderful art.
I grabbed these two pics out the window of the bus as we buzzed along.
The only problem was the 'emergency sign' painted on the window !

Vernon has a big smile on his face because he has a couple of hours
to take a nap on the bus before we begin walking again !
