Bridge Commander: Starship Classes

On this page, you will find the various starship classes available in Bridge Commander. Each ship will have its own page where you will find more detailed information about weapons, shielding, hull strength, as well as my own analysis and opinion of them.

The United Federation of Planets

The United Federation of Planets plays the largest role in Bridge Commander, and in the single player game, you will take command of some of Starfleet's finest ships. Federation ships are generally very well balanced with wide firing arcs and a large torpedo load. In Quick Battles and online gaming, 7 Federation craft will be available.

The Klingon Empire

The Klingons are some of the fiercest warriors in the galaxy, and the ships of the Klingon Empire are as powerful as the spirit of those who command them. Klingons put an emphasis on forward weaponry and shields. While this often leaves them vulnerable from attack from behind, the hulls of their larger battleships can withstand repeated assaults, and their cloaking devices give them a large tactical advantage over any foe.

B'Rel Class Bird of Prey

Vorcha Class Attack Cruiser

The Romulan Star Empire

Much like the Romulans themselves, much of their starship fleet and tactical capabilities remain shrouded in mystery. However, the Romulan Warbird has been encountered on many occasions from 2364 - 2378, both as friends and as foes. This enormous and powerful ship seems to be a mainstay in the Romulan fleet. Complete with a cloaking device, its elegance and grace can only be matched by its deadliness in combat.

D'Deridex Class Romulan Warbird

The Cardassian Union

After being forced to surrender to allied Federation, Klingon, and Romulan forces at the end of the Dominion War, the Cardassian Union was forbidden to produce ships for military purposes without the permission of the Federation alliance. However, the Union still has an ample supply of their patented attack ships. While they are reletively weak vessels structurally, they can lay down a complete 360 degree arc of compressor fire. Also armed with torpedo launchers, Cardassian vessels are not as large as their other Alpha Quadrant counterparts, which makes them fast and difficult to hit. Cardassian ships often hunt in packs of three, a tactic which can confuse an outnumbered enemy.

Cardassian Galor Class

Cardassian Keldon Class

The Ferengi Alliance

The Ferengi Alliance thrives on trade and commerce, and their large vessels are suited for hauling mass amounts of cargo. Sometimes that cargo happens to be very important to not only the Ferengi, but those who will receive it - Ferengi Daimons are notorious for trading arms and smuggling weapons to enemies of the Federation in the name of profit. Though Ferengi ships are normally non-combative, they will sometimes fight to protect their cargo. The Marauder should not be underestimated.

Ferengi D'Kora Class Marauder

The Kessok

Little is known about the Kessok, except that they are an advanced race with extremely powerful vessels.
