Q & A

Map of Kazakhstan

Our Friday Night Group
Some of the regulars at our Friday night study.

With Anatoly
Here I am with my buddy, Anatoly (who says he'll take me ice-skating this weekend).

A Chorus of Elves
One of my classes singing carols at the school Christmas pageant. Included: "What Child is This" and "Deck the Halls".

Another Musical Bunch
My other class' repetoire included "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree".

THIS IS NOT SANTA
It is a student, playing the Grinch, pretending to be Santa. Just wanted to clear that up.

Wise Men?
These guys came a long way to see the baby Jesus. "Maybe they were from Kazakhstan." - quote from script!

That's a Strange-Looking Babushka!
Me with my student, Eduard (still in costume).

And Some Kazakh Culture, for Good Measure
One of our students, Zhanar, providing an interlude of traditional dance.

Finale
All the students came together to sing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" at the end of the production.

Another Finale
Our six-o-clock classes wrapping it up.

A Visit From Some Students
A group of our students came by our apartment to celebrate Kazakhstan's independence day, Christmas, and New Year's all together!

They Don't Always Dress This Way
As part of a New Year's tradition, the students came in costume, and brought lots of food (and some gifts)!
