Over the course of the year, I've tried to document the exciting events, places and people I've encountered here in Karaganda. In part, I did this for the benefit of friends and family back home in America, but I also wanted a record of the year for myself, knowing from the get-go that I was not likely to keep a written journal on a regular basis. In some months I have taken fewer pictures, while in others, particularly those with important holidays, I took far more than I can include here. I hope you enjoy these glimpses of my life here in Kazakhstan and I hope that they provide you with a clearer idea of what my year has been like. The photos of Karaganda begin with the month of August, when we arrived here. I will continue to add each month as time passes.
