Just before they landed Irlan spotted Tian standing in the bowl, he jumped down as soon as Morineth had settled on the ground.
      "Irlan!" She yelled, tears were streaming down her face.
      "I missed you so much!" Irlan said as he ran and embraced her.
      "You came all the way here for me?"
      "I couldn't stay there without you." He said.
Just then a green fire lizard appeared from between and started chattering loudly at Irlan.
      "Stop that Tirila! He's not upsetting me, he's a friend of mine!" Tian said, "This is my flit Tirila, I got her on my first day in the Weyr."
      "Wow, can I hold her?" Irlan asked.
      "Sure, Tirila come here." She said. The green flit landed on her outstretched forearm, "scratch her eye ridges, she loves it."
      Irlan did and Tian passed Tirila to him.
      "How long are you going to stay here?" She asked.
      "I'm going to be a candidate for the same clutch as you!" He said, still scratching the fire lizard who was crooning with pleasure.
      "I can't believe it! I thought I'd never see you again until a dragonrider told me that you'd been found by a sweeprider."
      "I thought I'd never see you again either! I had to come to tell you..." His words trailed off.
      "Tell me what?" Tian asked.
      "That I... That I...love you." Suddenly the floor seemed extremely interesting to Irlan.
      "I...I love you too," Irlan looked up, "I didn't realise it until my second day here but I do, I really do."
      "You do? I was so afraid that you'd laugh at me."
      "I wouldn't do that!" Tian smiled.
      Irlan looked into her large hazel eyes and knew that it was true. He drew closer to her and they kissed. The large crowd of weyrfolk that had assembled during the brief conversation let out a tremendous cheer but Tian and Irlan hardly even noticed them.
