You walk into the tower of Commander Josl. You see a tall young man with tanned skin sitting at a desk you assume he must be Josl, he looks very busy so you turn to leave. When you reach the entrance you hear him turn.
"Wait don't go! I've just finished." He called.
"What are you doing?" You ask.
"Writing a song. Want to hear it?"
"Sure." You say.
He picks up a guitar that'd been lying on the floor and starts to strum a tune.
"No that's not right." He says to himself and twiddles with the tuning. He strums again, "Much better!"
The tune is a haunting melody; Josl begins to sing:
"A cold too long,
A dark that lasts,
A panicked heart,
That beats too fast.
The image gone,
The goal is lost,
The weyrling now,
Must pay the cost.
A wasted life,
Of child so keen.
He won't return,
Back from between."
When the song finishes you clap enthusiastically, "I like it." You say.
"Really?" He asks, "The words are from our Keepleader! She writes a lot of poetry which I put to music."
"It's good. Just one question, Where is between?"
"It's what the whole song is about! It is another word for nul-space, the place between places that spirit dragons go when they teleport."
