During the film, when Ivy first mentions the whole color idea, I figured they would eventually reveal it (no doubt in some tender moment), and it would be red. It makes sense. Lucius is one of those quiet leads who is apart from the rest of society, and such characters tend to be identified with that which is forbidden or rejected. The color red as his "aura" color fits the idea that he is different. He was confident he could enter the woods and not come to harm. He did not display much apprehension when Noah brought the red berries. Lucius is not threatened by the color red as others (those who don't know the whole secret and blah blah) are.

Ivy, sensing Lucius' character to be different and (should we say. . .) special, would identify him as such, and, because she has been trained to realize red as something different, pair him with it.
Maybe. The argument against Lucius' color being red is that Ivy seems just as threatened by the color as others are. I think she is the one who is the most worried when Noah brings the berries back. If Lucius' color was red, she'd probably feel uncomfortable around him, also. She's been trained to think that way. But, we see her fall in love with him and ain't it sweet. If his color was red and she reacted to the color the same way she reacts to the presence of that color in life, she would not have gotten as close to Lucius.

What about true love? And she is also different, so maybe she's okay with red.

First, she might not mean color the way we're thinking. Obviously, she was not born blind, as she has a sense of color and all that fun stuff. But an "aura" cannot be defined by one color, at least, not without severely simplifying the idea. I have to agree that it is red, just because (and V mentioned this) Lucius is special, so his color would be red. But wouldn't Noah's be red, also?

Maybe her color is red, and she realizes this, but doesn't tell anyone. Maybe she makes up the whole color thing because she is teasing Lucius ("stop asking").Maybe Noah's color is mint green. Maybe color just means life, and everybody is arainbow. Maybe she sees in infared!
But seriously. I'd say Lucius' color is red, also, just because that is the obvious one.

How about: Ivy feels safe with Lucius. Everyone feels safe with yellow. So Lucius' color is yellow, from Ivy's point of view. From a thematic, deep, English teacher view, Lucius color could be yellow or red (in terms of the whole special thing). Also, red attracts the creatures, and Lucius is attacked by Noah (who becomes a creature), so he could be red. On the other hand, Noah could be red because he causes harm to others. Or, he could be yellow because he helps keep the secret, in the end. And that brings hope. It's so damn beautiful.
