There are many non weapons things that Mechs use durng batle and out of the fight that need to be explained.
Note: The NARC beacon uses the Mechs radar to guide the missiles over and around different landforms.
Special Stuff
- Hatchets: Developed by the Lyran Alliance, and used by several Mechs, these hatchets come in all shapes and sizes. They are titanium sheathed depleted uranium, making them super strong, and able to cave in a mechs cockpit or break off an arm, though they do not actually cut that well. They are more like dull blades, more for bludgeoning and breaking stuff than anything else.
- Sword: The Craconis Combine's form of the Hatchet. It is sharp, and made of the same materials. It can slice through arms and leg and such. Currently only used by the No-Dachi battlemech.
- CASE: Cellular Ammunition Storage Equipment. A special way of storing ammo on your mech. If the ammo gets set off by waste heat/box gets hit/etc, it will only internally damage that area, and maybe knock it off non explosively. Such as a Timber Wolf's missile launcher going off. It will gut the missile lancher and blow off the arm, but not hurt the mech's body or other arm.
- MASC:Myomer Accelerator Signal Circuitry, It increases a Mech's speed temporarily (two turns), and also strengthens any arms it may have. If a No-Dachi, for example, had it, it would be able to cleanly slice through another mech with its sword.
C3 systems
- Command/Control/Communication System(C3): The C3 allows unit commanders to better coordinate activities at the lance or company level. The C3 system is mountable in both Mechs and vehicles. The C3 system also has a built in TAG unit.
- C3 Master: The master computer system of the C3. A lance must have one in order to use the system, as well as three Slave C3 links. A Lance can also coordinate with two other lances if there is another C3 master in that same lance as the first.
- C3 Slace links: The second part of the basic C3 system. You must have them to allow the system to work.
- C3i: The Comstar version of the C3 system. It is able to command 6 lances, unlike the original, but doesn't have a built-in TAG unit.
Tracker/Probe/ECM/Targeting systems.
- The Beagle Active Probe: Allows a mech to find hidden mechs, vehicles, and infantry, as well as find ECM fields and track enemy targets. CANNOT function as a TAG system.
- NARC Beacon: Missile fired probe. The missile is unable to track the target at which it is fired. When it attaches to that mech, the other members of the unit of the one who shot it can use the beacon to fire their tracking missiles straight to the target, allowing even an Owens behind a hill to hit that damn Firestarter on the other side.
- Guardian ECM: A Unit that is able to jam communications and missile targeting computers within a given area. Although a Beagle probe cannot pierce this field, it can tell that the jamming is taking effect.
- TAG: Target Acquisition Gear. Used to help LRM's and Artemis IV missiles lock onto far away targets with near 100% accuracy. (NOT pinpoint accuracy, but accuracy for actually hitting the targeted mech or building.)
- Clan Targeting Systems: More accurate than average targeting computers, they allow for more pinpoint accuracy, though they are still not 100% accurate to limbs and such.
