Definition: Illicit
characters are characters who have participated in an illicit "Consortium"
game, which has not been run under the Guidelines for
Consortium Play. Such a character may be unsuited for Consortium play due
to imbalancing factor created by the illicit game.
The Council
reserves the right to impose the following sanctions on any illicit character.
- The character loses experience such that he meets the minimum experience
necessary to remain at the level immediately below his current level. Rather
than trying to reconstruct what the character changed since his previous level,
the character takes one negative level until such point that the character
regains the level through experience. A negative level imposes the following
penalties: -1 to all skill and ability checks, -1 to attacks, - to saving
throws, -1 to effective level, loss of a spell of the highest available slot
and loss of a slot from the highest spell level (DMG 75-76).
- The character forfeits all equipment that he gained from the illicit game.
If there is doubt as to what he received in the illicit game, then he forfeits
all his possessions and receives starting gold for the main class in which
he has the most levels.
- If the player is uncooperative, then the Council
reserves the right to ban that character from further Consortium play. This
is a measure used only as a last resort.
To protect your character, make sure that every "Consortium" game
that you play in has been announced on the Consortium
Mailing Group. All sanctions imposed must be reporrted to the Council.
