Character Creation Guidelines
- A character is made by rolling
4d6 and dropping the lowest die, six times and then arranging ability scores
as desired.
- A character may be created using
the standard spread for ability scores (DMG XXX). The choice to use this spread
must be made before any dice are rolled for abilities.
- Any of the races or subraces
in the Races List
may be played at the appropriate ECL.
- Each character must be created
at first level with a total of 0 experience points. WotC has made it really
easy to play monster characters with the release of Savage Species. The Races
page shows which monsters have been approved for Consortium play.
- Any feat shown in the Feats
page has been approved for Consortium play.
- Each character starts with the
maximum possible gold as determined by class.
- A character, once non-abortable
stats have been rolled, must be played for one game session, after which time
the character does not need to be played.
- Valid equipment can be found
in the Equipment
section.
DM Guidelines
- Dungeon masters are encouraged
to follow the rules set forth in published Wizards of the Coast materials.
The rules as set forth in the core rules, the Player's Handbook, the
Dungeon Master's Guide and the Monster Manual take precedence
over all other published sources.
- Third party material must be
approved by the Council before a player may make use of it. A dungeon
master may make use of third party material, but if the third party material
is grossly imbalanced, it may be outlawed.
- Experience is to be divided by
the characters beginning the adventure.
- If one dungeon master has claim
over a specific area, then it is best to consult him before making drastic
changes to the area.
