ECL +1

To play a character with ECL +1, the following guidelines must be observed.

• The character chooses one apprentice-level class. Apprentice level classes can be found on page 40 of the DMG.
• Upon gaining 1,000 experience points, the character must exchange her apprentice-level class for the first level of the same class. An apprentice level class still begins play with the same amount of gold as her non-apprentice-level counterpart.
• Character advancement continues normally. Note that skill points, feats and ability increases are based soley on class level.
