CLAN ASSAMITE _______________________________________________________________
The
Assamite hail from the furthest reaches of Saudia Arabia
and Africa and like many of the Eastern clans is very
different to those of the
Camarilla and Sabbat. They are assassins for hire but
their fee is not a low one. The Assamite prefer to take
their payment in blood, the blood of
other kindred.
The act of
Diablerie, that is the act of one kindred draining
another is the mainstay of the Assamite way of life. An
Assamite values this above all
other things as he believes it will bring him closer to
his creator. It is true that by committing this act a
kindred can "jump" generations and gain
power, but generally Diablerie is looked upon as
cannibalism and is a distasteful subject amongst most
other clans. A few years ago the
Assamite were cursed by the Tremere at the behest of the
Camarilla as a whole. The curse means that now Assamite
were physically unable to
partake of kindred blood. it goes without saying that
this angered the clan, and many attempted to dodge the
curse by hiding or allying with the
Sabbat. Recently the clan claims that it has broken the
curse and has resumed its cannibalistic ways. Not only
has this circumvention been made,
but also the Assamite are no longer forced to tithe a
percentage of their payment to their sire, the reasons
for this are unknown. The clan is
generally feared for it's outlandish and barbaric
practices as much as it is respected for it's military
prowess. Mostly they are hired by the Sabbat
for their own purposes. The Camarilla seldom involve
themselves with the Assamite, and if they must it is all
usually kept taboo.
