Cut to More Fan Fiction

I am Duncan MacLeod. I was born 400 years ago in the Highlands of Scotland. I am Immortal, and I am not alone. Now is the time of the Gathering, when the stroke of a sword and the fall of a head will release the power of the Quickening. In the end, there can be only one.

This was the narative from the 1st season credits for Highlander: the series, starring Adrian Paul as Duncan MacLeod and Stan Kirsch as Richie.

 

The series was based on the Highlander movies, starring Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod.

Both the movies and the series give us great action sequences and thrilling story lines about people who die violent deaths and find out that they are Immortal, and can only die when someone cuts their head off, which will release the "Quickening", where all the strength, knowledge and power go into the Immortal who delivers the final blow (and just disappears should a non-Immortal do it). The special effects of these Quickenings are spectacular, and different every time, and if nothing else, make the movies and series worth watching.
