Mary was born in 1842.  Mary's father was Edward Martin and her mother was Anne McPaul.  Her paternal grandparents are Edward Martin and <Unknown>. She had six brothers and a sister, named Leanard, John, Daniel, James, Henry, Edward and Margaret.  She was the sixth oldest of the eight children.
