Leanard was born in 1832.  Leanard's father was Edward Martin and his mother was Anne McPaul.  His paternal grandparents are Edward Martin and <Unknown>. He had five brothers and two sisters, named John, Daniel, James, Henry, Edward, Mary and Margaret.  He was the oldest of the eight children.
