The following is an excerpt from an article on the local Rock Band "ettu Brutus" comming out in the Sunday's issue of the Pepperpot.

If there was someone screaming shirtless in the back of a pickup at any one time on a Saturday night in GT, there would be a fifty percent chance it would be Roger Gordon. This sort of intensity is something that was apparent at Main Street Lime while Roger was on the drums. He said that he has a passion for them since he was a young boy going to church.

"My sister is a member of the Newtown Assembly Church in Kitty and when i was younger, i used to go there with her and i was so impressed by the drummer, i used to dream about playing drums," Roger said.

However, playing drums in a church band wasn't on the cards for him. "It's not," Roger said, "like i got anything against God or anything like that but it din got the pep, the thing that i was looking for." The thing is, at that point in time (my early teens) i wasn't sure what i was looking for. Unlike most of my friends at the time. I found that dancehall music or rap held no real appeal for me and so i started listening to what i considered the "softer side of Rock 'N' Roll", artists like Michael Bolton. I later moved on to bands like Bryan Adams, Richard Marx and Bon Jovi to mention a few.

I hooked up with Ryan Ramdin while in third form at Christ Church Secondary, a classmate who felt as lost as i was to finding a sound that really moves us. Together we sought out and shared all the Rock 'N' Roll albums we could get our hands on. Finally in fifth form, we decided to start a band. We began by trying to figure out what was needed to make this thing work.

Plus, does ettu Brutus drink "rat blood"? Roger on all this and more this Sunday...
