Ghosts of Darkness

Fallen Angel
Cold, so cold dark embrace, so tight,
Blinding you even in the depths of the night...
No way to forget it, no way to escape it,
It only buries you deeper in your pit
And yet you try to shake away the feeling,
In vain, it only increases your suffering.

You remember it, your endless cry of distress,
It still sounds in your ears, without forgiveness.
You remember it, your endless fall into nothingness,
It still plays in your head, without backwardness.
Nothing to do, but your last prayer in misery,
"Death, come to me, I'll welcome you gladly"...

But no more prayer! Death will not come
And nobody will hear your prayer so troublesome.
Let your hopes die, they would only fall deeper
And nothing could prevent them to make you sink further.
Silence your prayers and make a lullaby
With your own endless high-pitched cry.

You wish for Death, and Death will not come.
You wish for fears that you could overcome.
In truth, no fear to have, Death only is forever
But your endless fall will last for far longer
Even though forever doesn't last as long as it used to
And there is nothing about it that you can do.

As you are losing your soul without remission,
As it's torn apart from your body till oblivion,
In a surge of hope that you cannot deny,
For one last time, for one last try, in its final cry,
You beautiful angel's voice reaches out for heaven
"Oh, pray for me now that I am fallen!"
