7.3.11: mobi`backup

pedester -- ground zero (more pedestrian than mobile)
quadcycles

mobi ideas

4.9.9: compact# collapsing

. should be rigid-walled but collapsable and cheap-built to replace easily .

2005.10.1: compact# recliner

7.4.2: summary

. the mobi#compact is a recumbent {bike, trike, or quad} enclosed in a box -- a micro.car,
and a recliner -- an office chair;
it uses a telescoping mechanism for 360deg windows like a car has,
except the window space is just a half ft tall and 2x2ft wide
. it was inspired by the realization that there was no way to harden car glass against attacks,
but even if safety glass is not in the design (2007 plans would have a built-in poncho with separate use of helmit)
the idea is still useful since it increases security when the car is parked unattended;
because flattening the viewing port makes it less accessable to intruders and vandals .

5.10.1: intro

. the compact version has a telescoping design,  where one box slides out of another
. it could pass as a combination {luggage compartment, mobile tent foundation}
-- the design being inspired by the fear of camping sites that segregated tents from rv's
wondering how I'd be treated when they saw a tent-sized rv

. being compact is also good for dragging into buildings, and locking to posts on the sidewalk .
. you could ride reclined unless you wanted to look like a normal workbike with trunk rather than an rv
or if you simply needed the cabin space for a big shopping trip .

5.10.12
. another compacting mechanism -- and one that also relates to security --
is having a ceiling tile that slides up to give you windows on all four sides when you want to drive,
and then slides back down to hide the windows .

5.11.03:
. in the same way that the front opens to allow
upright cycling with a normal view,
it could also use this opening to erect a tent that allowed sitting upright;
and, the space normally used for the bike`s rear
could be replaced with an ultra-portable toilet
( like that found in fred meyers,
that consisted of a folding chair with circular seat with some way to hold a bag under it  )
. the bike is removable,
and folds to be thrown into the box when locking up for parking
--- so the car does allow everything needed,
but
a trailer would be the only way to live in a bug-free place
unless the cycling mechanism was more sophisticated than just
throwing a box around a standard bike
( see controling pests while driving)

. the box is easier to secure when the architecture is rigid
and the insulation does not have to be any thicker than a coat
since the key to heat preservation is ventilation control
. also, the shade control can fold up onto the roof when trying to get through doors .

5.10.1: cabin

. the box is a rectangle that can be seen as two squares"{ head, foot };
. the driver`window telescope would be on the head square,
. the foot`end has 2 doors that opened up to let you ride the bike from the normal position, by attaching the seat post
5.10.12:
. these doors would be the only entrance to cabin;
the window telescope would not have to provide a door service

5.10.1: compact# upright

7.4.24
. in this revision of the compact# recliner, the cabin`s recliner is not used for pedaling
. the foot`end has 2 doors on the floor to expose the pedals only when needed,
because I found that trying to isolate the cabin air while also including the pedals
required high-tech skills, precision-fitting parts, and greased seals, etc

6.1.22` mobi# bike&trailer

6.8.1: mobi#lite -- found a recumbent!

6.11.30: the velocar

. as with the current design,
the backup product must be a velocar; ie, a human-powered vehicle with a shell;
  and the ultimate req' is that it offer a safer way to sleep on the spot
. it may be possible to deploy a dog.guard on a 10speed,
with something that can stop teeth but not wind
. optimally though, the design should protect against weather too .
. it may be possible to do this with a bmx bike
and it may be essential to separate the trailer from the velocar designs
todo:
 . review log` discussion about trailer and dolly revisions,
and esp'ly the primary objecive: dog.guard .

7.2.13: mobi# tadpole

. another pivot architecture is like before,
where there was the complaint that dahon was sweeping then entire floor of the trailer`frame,
but knowing that the bed`frame would be bolted on to extend it, and thereby offer the same room,
since the trailer`tires would be moved to the far front,
and then the front would be extended with the
. the original question was how can there be a tadpole design
which is more stable because the steering is done with twin front wheels
instead of a single front wheel
. will to fit the dahon to that,
you couldn't connect by a z-axis boom;
instead you'd have to connect by a u-shape
that came from behind and then went around to the front on either side
. the trailer`boom would still be connected to the dahon`top.tube,
but would be bolted to the back-most crossbeam?
that is not how the dahon top.tube was meant to take compressions;
so it would have to be like it is now
only the boom would be bolted parallel with the crossbeam that would be supporting the dahon,
and then the dahon pivot would be attached directly over the crossbeam
. the trailer`frame would need to be raised,
or the dahon would be so inclined that the steering would have to be chain driven
in order to give drivers the leverage needed to hold self up during turns
-- esp'ly since centrifical force is working against the drivers
as they are leaning opposite the direction being turned
...
 and that's also why the dahon pivot should be nixed in favor of sawyer steering,
where a pulley system was used to rotate the axle of the front pair
. this would vastly simplify the attachment of the dahon to the trailer`frame,
becuse it could be bolted tight instead of having to strengthen dahon`s weak pivot .

7.3.10: mobi# tadpole.procumbent

7.3.10:
. the same sawyer-architecture used as a delta trike going forward,
could be used as tadpole trike going backwards:
. just imagine the transmission reversed,
and the driver in the same angle
but turned around and resting stomach on a stomach-shaped seat

. the driver might find it easier to steer if tilted more upright,
so that driver`s body stays in one place while rotating through a turn
. this would make it easier to keep both hands on the controls during a sharp turn .

7.3.8: mobi# bike

. this would be essentially a house on a bike with side wheels like while training
. the side wheels would be
hinged up-down to allow leaning into curve
and would have many castor wheels shaped like tank treads for a rollerblade affect
while the bike wheels would have the usual power and braking

. get the wheels for a motorbike and they'll have disk or drum brakes built-in
. depending on the wheels chosen, may have to buy or junk-fish a frame too .

7.3.8: power.wheel

. the best rear`brake idea for the next version is having a powerchair design,
where either
some way is found to attach a gear to the {hub, rim}
or, a powered wheel makes traction with the road`wheels
7.6.1:
. for the best traction, the power.wheel should be like tank`treads that hug the road`wheel .

7.3.13: porta.powerstation

. another form of backup needed (where the mobi is ok, but low on power, or wifi)*
is something warm that also looks less conspicuous than a bag over the head;
eg,
 the design starts with a plastic poncho
but had a neck structure that would let you look down and see the laptop
. the neck structure would not be a mere hole tho';
it would have a clear plastic panel covered with anti fog (glycerine?)
both to keep the heat on your hands,
and keep the ozone out of your face .
. that way you can park anywhere
and then use outdoor power like at the park, the library (on sundays or at night)
. it would have a plastic panel covered with anti fog (glycerine?)
to keep the heat on your hands, and keep the ozone out of your face .
*: 7.5.8:
. this may seem ludicrous in light of avoid even the appearance of evil
but dosage also makes the poison,
and there can moments with knee injuries, where an hour with the laptop
can really clear up confusion on the pda
. the porta.powerstation costs little to implement,
so it's worth having just for emergencies .
