Ty has been cleared of his infection. The antibiotics worked and will be stopped tomorrow. For the last few days he has been acting more like himself and his personality has really been showing! The treatment for his lungs has been working really well too! We have seen a lot of improvements! His oxygen support has steadily been going down and his ventilator settings have been reduced a lot.
The doctors are planning on changing Ty's ventilator to a different one on Monday. This is a big step in the right direction for him! His lung treatment will continue for the next week as well. They are going to try to let him go a week before they start the next treatment. If he is able to go longer between treatments then that's better! So they will see how he's doing and go from there!
Unfortunately with the sickness his weight has not gone up at all. He's still around 2 lbs 6 oz now. They have had him on a reduced feeding schedule to try to keep the fluid from building up around his lungs, but now that he is doing better they will start to increase his feedings and his weight will start to go up.
