They tried several treatments to help but finally had to do a steroid treatment in conjunction with some major pain medication. This really opened his lungs up. As his lungs began to heal, they started secreating fluid which began to build up. At one time they were suctioning his lungs every 15 minutes and were getting a lot of the fluid out. Now they are down to suctioning him about every 45 minutes or so.
Because he was so sick he hasn't gained any weight over the last week. Now that he is feeling better he should start gaining weight. They have also stopped the pain medication.
There were some times that were really scary and we spent a lot of sleepless nights up with him. I know that God heard all of your prayers and has His healing hand on Ty! Please continue to pray for his lungs. Also pray that the infection subsides and that it doesn't come back!
