They have not been able to lower his CPAP rate as much as they want but that's ok. They are just going to go slowly with him to make sure that his lungs stay expanded. Hopefully in a couple of weeks he can get on the cannula and we can work on taking him home!
His eye tests have come back about the same as it did 2 weeks ago. They are going to check it again to make sure that it is improving. Hopefully this next week he will have good improvement. One of the reasons that they are not able to lower his CPAP is because they need his oxygen saturation to be high to help his eyes develop. So hopefully if we see some improvement this week they can focus on getting him off the CPAP! They have been doing some treatments with inhaled steroids to help with his lungs, but it takes about a week for the treatment to start working and they just started it a couple days ago. So in a week we should start seeing some good improvement!
Ty loves to be held! So we have been trying to hold him as much as possible! It really helps him not be so fussy when they have to mess with him.
The doctors said that we should be proud of how well he's improving! The last month they said that he has done wonderfully! His lungs have really improved and he should be ready to go home soon!
Please enjoy the pictures below. In some of the pictures you will see that we are wearing gowns and gloves. This is because the entire NICU was put on a restriction because of an increase in viral infections in the hospital and they want to be extra careful with all of the babies.
