BIOGRAPHY
At the height of the Girl Power movement, 2 men decided that pop music needed kicking into shape. They knew they had the know-how and the ability to put together one of the worlds most exciting bands since the launch of the Spice Girls-afterall, they were the men who put Scary, Baby, Sporty, Posh, and Ginger together in the first place. With this in mind, they decided that an edgy, attitude led band that "walked as it talked" could blow the brains of pop lovers. And so they created 5ive. These men are Bob and Chris Herbet, a father and son partnership who run Safe Management and they're the "daddies" of the band, if you like. While they work together as a team they have separate roles, with Bob taking care of the band's business affairs and Chris looking after the creative side of management. They concieved 5ive, gave birth to them and since nurtured the band through the teething pains of their infancy in the pop world. And, like any proud parents they are convinced their offspring will go on to rule the world. "When we came up with the idea to form a 'lad band' we knew that there was a gap in the market. There were loads of boybands in the charts who were doing okay, but there wasn't an all-male group that was exciting in the way that Take That once were," says Chris, 26, who works with his father from the Safe HQ. "We didn't want a band that pretended to live and unbelievably squeaky-clean existance and who would sing songs as bland as their image. We wanted to put together a group that was real. We'd already created the biggest act Britain had ever seen with the Spice Girls and we knew that we could do it again." page 2>>
